Admissions · Careers · Scientific content

Guidance for people entering the life sciences — and the organisations that hire them.

Arfion Consultancy advises students applying to science programmes abroad, professionals moving into biotech and pharma roles, and companies that need reliable scientific data and content. Every engagement is handled by someone who has spent a career inside industry CMC and manufacturing, not by a call centre.

Three service lines, one practice. Most clients arrive through one peak and come back through another — a student who becomes a graduate hire, a company that first commissioned a white paper.

What we do

Three service lines, built around the same industry knowledge.

Admissions advice is only useful if it is grounded in what employers actually hire for. Career support is only useful if it comes from someone who has read the CVs from the other side of the table. That link is the whole point of the practice.

Who you work with

Zulfaquar A. Arfi, PhD

The practice is deliberately small — you speak to the person doing the work, drawing on an advisory network of scientists based in Germany where a case calls for it. The advice comes from more than eighteen years inside biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing — material qualification, tech transfer, downstream processing and analytical development, working across CMC, QA, QC, regulatory and external manufacturing partners.

Most advice in this field is written by people who have never sat in a deviation meeting. That is the gap this practice exists to close.
  • DoctoratePhD, RWTH Aachen University, Germany
  • Experience18+ years across CMC development, MSAT, downstream processing and analytical development
  • IndustrySenior roles in vaccine, biologics and API manufacturing organisations, including contributions to early product approvals
  • ProgrammesLed EU HORIZON 2020-funded programmes and managed international technology transfers
  • FunctionsMaterial qualification, gap assessments, critical material attribute work packages, supplier and CDMO management
  • PracticeRegistered in India as Arfi Edu-Pharma Consulting (Udyam MSME, Bihar); founder based in Germany, advising clients across India, Europe and the Middle East

Advisory network

Every advisor has studied and worked in Germany.

Guidance comes from people who have been through the same application system, the same immigration office and the same job market — not from a counsellor who has only read about it. Advisors are added only where they cover a discipline or a route the practice does not already.

Questions

Before you get in touch.

Do you guarantee admission or a job offer?

No, and be careful with anyone who does. What we can do is make sure your application, documents and interview preparation are as strong as your actual profile allows, and tell you honestly when a target is unrealistic so you can spend your effort somewhere better.

Do you only work with life-science applicants?

Life sciences, pharmacy, biotechnology, chemistry and adjacent engineering fields are where the advice is strongest, because that is where the industry experience sits. Enquiries outside those fields are taken only if we can genuinely add something.

How are fees structured?

Fixed fees per package, published above and confirmed in writing after the introductory call, rather than open-ended hourly billing. Student packages can be paid in two instalments. Commissioned company work is quoted per project against an agreed scope.

Can you work with clients outside India?

Yes. The practice is registered in India and works with clients across Europe and the Middle East as well. Sessions run online, applications and written work are handled remotely, and scheduling is arranged around your time zone.

Is my information kept confidential?

Yes. Documents, CVs, and any company material shared with the practice are treated as confidential and are not passed on. Non-disclosure agreements can be signed for commissioned work.
